ILR ( implantable loop recorder ) - useful tool for evaluation of unexplained SYNCOPE ( LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS )

It’s implanted subcutaneously and collects ECG for 3 years .so once syncope happens by interrogating the device u can reach the diagnosis . It’s implanted via just a 2 cm incision , under local Anesthesia , and requires just 1-2 days of hospital stay . Said dr Arun Gopi , head Dept of electrophysiology who does the procedure.
